Why campers love it here
About this site
A farm shop and tearoom selling home reared meat, home grown fruit and vegetables and homemade cakes is what raises East Farm Certificated Site above the usual five van field, and it trades from May through September. The campsite occupies an acre of level ground in the middle of a working beef, sheep and arable farm at Winterborne Whitechurch, just beyond the village and some 5 miles south west of Blandford Forum. This is the rolling country of the Dorset Downs, a designated National Landscape, with Dorchester about 10 miles off and the Dorset coast half an hour by car. Certification comes through the Camping and Caravanning Club, so membership is needed, and capacity stops at 5 caravans or motorhomes and 10 tents. Grass pitches are offered with or without electric hook-up, backed by flushing toilets, showers, washbasins and ice pack freezing. Dogs and children are both welcome, ball games have room to happen, and footpaths and bridleways lead straight off the site. Horses can be accommodated by arrangement with the owners at £25 a night. Non members, sizeable groups and anyone after a pool, a bar or a hardstanding should book somewhere else. East Farm runs its 2026 season from 1 April to 31 October, with member prices from £20 a night per unit.
