About this site

Exmoor Coast Holidays is a campsite on Caffyns Farm, a working farm high on the North Devon coast of Exmoor National Park, just outside Lynton and Lynmouth. Run by the Harman family, the farm spreads over 160 acres, more than half of it flat, with around 50 pitches laid out across five sheltered fields for tents, campervans and motorhomes. The big draw is that campfires are allowed in every field, which is rare, and the setting is genuinely wild: panoramic views over the hills, the Valley of the Rocks and out to sea towards Wales, with Lee Bay the nearest beach and the South West Coast Path close by. Two of the fields are enclosed and well suited to families with children, while the space means larger groups fit in without crowding other campers. On the farm you will find a barn cafe and cider bar with a goat garden, a farm shop, its own Exmoor cider, and horse riding from the on-site stables for beginners and experienced riders alike. Polite dogs are welcome and bike hire is available. Facilities are simple rather than resort-style, so it suits campers after fires, space and Exmoor scenery rather than pools and arcades. The camping season runs spring to autumn; contact Exmoor Coast Holidays at Caffyns Farm, near Lynton, to book.

Good to know

Are campfires allowed at Exmoor Coast Holidays?
Yes, campfires are allowed in every camping field at Caffyns Farm, which is unusual and one of the main reasons people choose the site. It suits campers who want a traditional, back-to-nature Exmoor stay with a fire in the evening rather than a facility-packed holiday park.
Is Exmoor Coast Holidays dog friendly?
Yes, polite dogs are welcome at Caffyns Farm. As a working Exmoor farm with livestock, dogs need to be kept under close control around animals and other campers. The open fields, South West Coast Path and surrounding moorland make it a good base for walking with a dog.
What can you bring to camp, and how many pitches are there?
The farm has around 50 pitches spread across five sheltered fields, taking tents, campervans and motorhomes, with over half of the 160-acre site being flat. Two fields are enclosed and suited to families. Facilities are simple, including showers, toilets and washing-up areas rather than pools or arcades.
How far is the beach and Lynton from the site?
Lee Bay is the nearest beach, with the South West Coast Path running close by. Lynton and Lynmouth are less than ten minutes away, and the Valley of the Rocks, Woody Bay and Heddon's Valley are all within easy reach for walking and exploring Exmoor's coast.
What else is on the farm besides camping?
Caffyns Farm has a barn cafe and cider bar with a goat garden, a farm shop, its own Exmoor cider production, and horse riding from the on-site stables for both beginners and experienced riders. Bike hire is available too, making it easy to explore the surrounding moorland.
