Why campers love it here
About this site
Fields Farm is a small Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site on a working farm in Castleton, within the Hope Valley in the Peak District. This is a five van site in the truest sense: it takes just five caravans, motorhomes or tents, each pitch with its own electric hook up, so it stays quiet and uncrowded. There is no toilet or shower block, so every party must be fully self contained with their own washing facilities on board. Pitches go to Camping and Caravanning Club members, though you can pick up a joining pack on site, and it is an adults only site with dogs welcome by arrangement. The farm runs beef cattle, sheep and a small flock of orchard hens, and is managed under a countryside stewardship scheme, so hedges, drystone walls and wildlife are part of the picture. Castleton is a brilliant walking base: gentle valley strolls sit alongside the climbs up Mam Tor, the Losehill ridge and over into Edale, and the village itself has pubs, cafes and famous show caverns a short walk away. Fields Farm opens from the start of April to the end of November. It suits self sufficient couples after peace and views rather than families needing on site facilities, and pitches are booked directly with the farm.
