Hambledon Hill View Campsite

Hambledon Hill View Campsite is a small, quiet campsite on a working family farm at Hammoon, near Sturminster Newton in the Blackmore Vale, North Dorset. The site has around five pitches set well back from the main road, with views towards Hambledon Hill and its ancient hillfort, and both the River Stour and the North Dorset Trailway within a short walk. Hambledon Hill View takes tents, motorhomes and caravans. There are no electric hook-ups on site, so it suits campers happy with a simple set up rather than anyone needing power on the pitch. Facilities cover a flushing toilet, a hot shower, a mess room with a sink, chemical disposal, fresh water and recycling. Four pubs, a garage and a village store sit within about two miles, and Sturminster Newton is roughly 20 minutes on foot along the trailway or five minutes by car, with Shaftesbury and Blandford Forum both around 15 minutes away. Dogs and families are welcome, and the peaceful setting suits couples and walkers who want birdsong and dark skies over nightlife. The site opens roughly March to October, weather permitting, and takes Camping and Caravanning Club members, with non-members able to join on arrival.
