Hayfield Camping And Caravanning Club Site

Hayfield Camping and Caravanning Club Site is a Club Site at the foot of the Dark Peak, on Kinder Road just outside the village of Hayfield in the High Peak. Known as a gateway to Kinder, it sits below Kinder Scout at the southern end of the Pennine chain, which makes it a favourite with walkers. There are 80 pitches, most with an electric hook-up, and a predominance of tents gives it a proper camping feel, though touring caravans are not accepted (campervans and motorhomes are). If you would rather not bring canvas, there are three insulated wooden glamping pods and ReadyCamp safari-style tents ready for when you arrive. From the site you can pick up the Sett Valley Trail or climb Lantern Pike, and the show caverns at Castleton, the spa town of Buxton and Chatsworth House are all within reach. This is a walkers' and families' site rather than a party spot, with a quiet, well-run atmosphere. Hayfield Camping and Caravanning Club Site opens from the start of April to early November, and pitches and pods are booked through the Camping and Caravanning Club, where member pricing is quoted.
