Why campers love it here
About this site
Higher Rew Touring Caravan & Camping Park is a four-star, family-run park near Malborough, a couple of miles from Salcombe in the South Hams. Three generations of the Squire family have run this South Devon site, which sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with countryside and sea views across the surrounding fields towards the coast. The large, gently sloping meadow holds around 90 grass pitches, roughly 70 of them with 16-amp electric hook-ups, plus some tiered pitches cut into the slope. It takes tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, and there is a games room, outdoor pool and play area, so it leans towards families and couples rather than party groups. Salcombe harbour, the sailing scene and beaches such as South Sands and East Portlemouth are all close, and the South West Coast Path is within walking distance, with a backpacker rate for walkers arriving on foot. Higher Rew opens Easter to the end of October and confirmed no touring price increase for 2026, which is worth knowing when Salcombe accommodation rarely comes cheap. Boat mooring and locked storage are available on request. Book early for the school holidays, when this corner of Kingsbridge and Salcombe is at its busiest.
