Why campers love it here
About this site
Holsome Park is a quiet, family-run campsite on a working farm at Diptford, in the South Hams countryside between Totnes and Kingsbridge in South Devon. The camping season is short and specific: the site opens for the school summer holidays in August only, so it is not a spring or autumn option. When it is open, the flat, grassy field offers generous pitches with panoramic views towards Dartmoor, along with toilets, showers and washing-up facilities. Campers bring tents, and pre-pitched tent hire is available, though there is no provision for caravans or motorhomes. Campfires are allowed, and well-behaved dogs are welcome. Being a working farm, there is a genuine draw here for children, who can walk round to see the animals, feed the chickens and collect eggs in the morning. The rest of the year the barn runs as a wedding and events venue, so double-check dates before you plan a trip. Holsome Park sits about ten minutes from the A38 and within easy reach of Pennywell Farm, Woodlands, Paignton Zoo and South Devon beaches such as Blackpool Sands, Bigbury and Slapton. This is a spot for simple, back-to-basics August camping in the South Hams rather than a facilities-heavy park. Book early, as the single open month fills quickly.
