Hunters Lodge Caravan & Camping Site

Hunters Lodge is a small adults-only certificated site on the edge of the estuary village of Starcross in South Devon, set in ten acres of its own quiet ground near the River Exe. It is a Freedom Camping certificated location and caters for touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents, with a 16-amp electric hook-up included on every pitch. As an adults-only site it does not take children, so it suits couples and solo campers wanting peace close to nature, where owls can be heard at night and deer and a kingfisher are sometimes seen by the lake. Hardstanding pitches for caravans and motorhomes start from £38 per night for two adults, and standard grass tent pitches from £30, both including electricity. Tents go on the grass pitches only, and the hardstandings do not take tents. Facilities are straightforward, with private hot showers for a small charge, a laundry room and a chemical disposal point. Starcross has a train station, and Hunters Lodge sits handy for the National Cycle Network, local buses and the coast. A minimum two-night stay applies and Sunday arrivals are not accepted.
