About this site

Hunters Moon Caravan and Motorhome Club Site is a 133 pitch, members only Club site on the edge of Wareham Forest at Cold Harbour, about three miles from Wareham in Dorset. The Caravan and Motorhome Club owns and runs it directly, and the scale shows: 91 of the 133 pitches are hardstanding, the maximum outfit length is nine metres, and the earliest arrival time is 1pm. Facilities are the full Club set rather than a field with a tap: toilet blocks, a disabled shower room, a family washroom, baby changing, laundry, a dishwashing area, a motorhome service point with drive over waste disposal, gas, Wi-Fi and a children's play area. Charcoal, gas and electric barbecues are all allowed, and there are dog walks both on and from the site. Caravans, motorhomes and tents are all welcome, and Hunters Moon stays open all year. TV reception is listed as poor. Wareham Forest is on the doorstep for walking, the seven mile Sika Cycle Trail runs nearby, and Corfe Castle, Durdle Door and the Jurassic Coast are all within reach, as is Poole harbour ten miles away. Membership is required, and pitch prices are quoted through the Club's booking system, held with a £5 refundable deposit.

Good to know

Do you have to be a member to stay at Hunters Moon?
Yes, Hunters Moon is a Caravan and Motorhome Club site open exclusively to Club members, as the Club states on its own listing. Booking runs through the Club's system. Membership also brings the member pitch rate, which the Club advertises as a saving of up to £15 a night on UK Club sites.
Are dogs allowed at Hunters Moon Club Site?
Yes, the Club lists dogs as one of the things this site is ideal for, with a dog walk on the site and another leading off it. Wareham Forest sits right on the doorstep, which gives you a lot more ground to cover than the average campsite dog walk.
Can you have a barbecue at Hunters Moon?
Yes, the Club listing confirms that barbecues are allowed and specifies charcoal, gas and electric. That covers most setups. There is no mention of open campfires being permitted, so treat barbecues as the limit and check with the site wardens on arrival if you are unsure.
Is Hunters Moon open all year?
Yes, the Club lists Hunters Moon as open all year, with an earliest arrival time of 1pm. With 91 of its 133 pitches on hardstanding, it copes with winter touring better than a grass only site. The Club notes reception may close before 8pm, though arrivals are accepted until 8pm.
Can you take a tent to Hunters Moon?
Yes, the Club describes Hunters Moon as welcoming caravans, motorhomes and camping. There are 133 pitches in total, 91 of them hardstanding, with the balance on grass. Maximum outfit length is nine metres, so check your dimensions if you are towing something long into Wareham Forest.
How much does it cost to stay at Hunters Moon?
Pitch prices are quoted through the Caravan and Motorhome Club's booking system rather than published as a flat rate, and a stay can be held with a £5 refundable deposit. The Club currently advertises under 5s staying free and kids aged 5 to 17 for £1 on this site.
