The A31 runs close by, which is what makes the geography work: Wimborne Minster lies about a mile to the north west, Poole about five miles south, and the beaches at Poole and Bournemouth need only a short drive. Head east instead and Ringwood and the New Forest come up at around ten miles. Nobody should arrive at Lake Farm expecting a shop, an entertainment programme or the trappings of a large touring park, because the appeal is a quiet field in Dorset and easy reach of Wimborne.
