About this site

Longfield Caravan Park is a small, family owned touring caravan park on Matchams Lane at Hurn, set on the Dorset and Hampshire border between the market towns of Christchurch and Ringwood. There are just 20 pitches on a mixture of level grass and gravel hardstanding, and the park takes touring caravans, camper vans and trailer tents. There are no tent pitches, and commercial vehicles, transit vans and pickups are not accepted, so this one is not for you if you are arriving with a frame tent, a work van or a taste for a big entertainment complex. Hurn sits on the edge of the New Forest, with Ringwood under 4 miles north, Avon Heath Country Park about 2 miles away and the Blue Flag sands at Bournemouth roughly a 7 mile drive. What lifts Longfield Caravan Park past the usual facilities list is the large solar heated outdoor swimming pool kept for residents only, backed by on site caravan storage and hardstanding seasonal pitches with electric hook up for anyone wanting to leave a van in Dorset for the full 12 months. The park is open all year, dogs cost £3 a night, and 2026 pitches start from £40 a night for a caravan, two people and electric.

Good to know

Are dogs allowed at Longfield Caravan Park?
Yes, dogs are welcome and the park's own 2026 tariff charges £3 per dog per night across every season band. That charge sits alongside the standard pitch fee, so factor it in when you book. Contact the park directly if you are bringing more than one dog to your pitch.
Can I pitch a tent at Longfield Caravan Park?
No, this is a touring caravan park and it does not take tents. The park's own site says it accommodates touring caravans, camper vans and trailer tents on its 20 grass and gravel hardstanding pitches, so tent campers around Christchurch and Hurn will need to look at another site.
Is Longfield Caravan Park open all year?
Yes, the park states it is open all year, and its seasonal pitches run a full 12 month season with winter storage included. The 2026 tariff is priced in bands covering 1 January through to 31 December, which backs that up. Seasonal caravans cannot be used as a main residence.
How much does it cost to stay at Longfield Caravan Park?
Prices start from £40 a night for a caravan, two people and electric hook up in the cheapest 2026 season bands. A caravan with awning starts from £45, extra adults and children are £10 each, an extra car is £15, and a £50 per week non refundable deposit secures a pitch.
Do pitches at Longfield Caravan Park have electric hook-up?
Yes, electric hook up is standard in the tariff, which prices caravan pitches on the basis of two people plus electric. All the seasonal pitches are hardstanding with electric hook up and adjacent parking. On site facilities also include toilets, showers, shaver and hairdryer points, an Elsan point and a laundry.
How far is Longfield Caravan Park from the beach and the New Forest?
The park puts the award winning Blue Flag beaches at Bournemouth about a 7 mile drive away, and the New Forest starts effectively on the doorstep at Hurn. Ringwood is under 4 miles north, Avon Heath Country Park is roughly 2 miles, and Burley is around 5 miles.
