Why campers love it here
About this site
Manifold Valley Campsite is a small, family run site at Dale Farm, Wetton Mill, set right in the Manifold Valley in the Staffordshire Peak District near Ashbourne. It is a working farm, and pitches sit by the river with the Wetton Mill tea rooms more or less on the doorstep and the Manifold Way cycling and walking trail running past, so it is a proper base for getting out on foot or by bike. The famous silhouette of Thor's Cave is a short walk away up from the trail. The site takes tents and small campervans only, so there is no room for touring caravans or large motorhomes, and this is a quiet, low key spot rather than a facilities heavy holiday park. Phone signal is patchy to none, which most people count as a bonus, and it is worth bringing cash. Manifold Valley Campsite suits walkers, cyclists and families happy with a simple riverside pitch and the sound of running water. The site is open for the summer season from May to the end of October, and pitches are booked directly with the farm.
