Why campers love it here
About this site
Meadow View Country Park is a 52 acre camping, glamping and static caravan park set in meadows and woodland near the village of Horton, a few miles north of Wimborne in Dorset. The park was recorded here as Meadow View Caravan Park, and that older domain now returns a 404 error, so bookings go through meadowviewcountrypark.co.uk instead. Horton Tower, Holt Heath and Knowlton Church and Earthworks are all close by, the New Forest National Park is a short drive east, and Bournemouth Airport is 15 minutes away. Touring pitches are off grid grass, up to 8 by 14 metres, with no electric hook up, which suits campers happy to run on gas and battery and rules out anyone who needs mains power. Each pitch covers one car, four guests and up to two dogs, and roof tents, pup tents, gazebos and awnings sit inside your marked area. Glamping runs to safari tents sleeping four to six, four pods named Little Elm, Little Ash, Little Yew and Little Oak, and shepherd's huts, all taking up to two small dogs, with bathroom blocks kept for glamping guests only. Beyond the pitch list, Meadow View has a landscaped lake and duck pond, stables and a petting area, little light pollution for stargazing, and The Barnhouse bar with a pizza oven, open weekends from 5pm. Reception runs 8am to 4pm and prices are quoted through the park's own booking system.
