Why campers love it here
About this site
Modbury Caravan and Motorhome Club Site is a 114-pitch touring park run by the Caravan and Motorhome Club at Higher East Leigh, near Modbury and Ivybridge in the South Hams of Devon. It takes tents, caravans and motorhomes, with electric hook-ups and hardstanding pitches, plus on-site facilities including a shop, laundry, a children's play area and wifi. Dogs are welcome, and the site opens seasonally from mid-March to the start of November. The location is its strong suit, sitting between two very different landscapes: the open moor, streams and big views of Dartmoor to the north, and the sandy coves, estuaries and South West Coast Path of the South Hams to the south. Within a short drive you can walk up to Western Beacon on the moor or explore rockpools on the coast, and the pretty town of Modbury itself is close for supplies and pubs. It suits families and touring couples who want a well-run, facilities-equipped base for exploring South Devon rather than a remote farm field. Non-members can usually book, with Club members paying reduced rates. Book direct through the Caravan and Motorhome Club, and check pitch availability early for the summer school holidays, when this stretch of Devon coast gets busy.
