About this site

Monks Lane Certificated Site is a small, member only campsite at Rodden, on the run of farmland between Abbotsbury and Weymouth in south Dorset. The site sits about 2 miles east of Abbotsbury and around 5 miles north west of Weymouth, with the Fleet lagoon and Chesil Beach roughly 1.5 miles south, so the Jurassic Coast is close enough to walk to rather than drive. It takes tents, touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans on grass, and there is no electric hook-up, so bring a decent leisure battery or plan to manage without. Dogs and families are welcome. As a Certificated Site it is capped at 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 tents, and you need Camping and Caravanning Club membership to stay, so it will not suit non members, large groups or anyone who wants a shop, a bar or hook-up on the pitch. Monks Lane does not publish prices or opening dates anywhere we could find, so ring the site on 01305 770592 to check it is still taking bookings, confirm the season and get a price before you set off for Weymouth.

Yes, Monks Lane is a Certificated Site, so it is open to Camping and Caravanning Club members only. Certificated Sites take a maximum of 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 tents at any one time, which keeps the site small and quiet but means you must join the Club first.

No, there is no electric hook-up at Monks Lane, so pitches are grass only. Bring a charged leisure battery, a gas supply for cooking and a plan for keeping phones alive, or pick a site with mains power instead. Check current facilities with the owner on 01305 770592 before booking.
Are dogs welcome at Monks Lane near Weymouth?
