About this site

Monkton Wyld Holiday Park is a touring, caravan and camping park set in 25 acres of landscaped grounds near Charmouth in West Dorset, three miles from the harbour town of Lyme Regis. The park sits within the West Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to Charmouth beach and the fossil-rich Jurassic Coast. Pitches are designed to take tents, caravans and motorhomes, with a choice of grass or hardstanding and electric or non-electric options, plus a level rally field for small and large groups. The tent pitches use a soft Cotswold-stone hardstanding over a free-draining chalk base, which helps with pegging and drainage in wet weather. Families and dogs are welcome, with two dog-walking areas and a dog wash, and the park keeps a calm, quiet feel across its separate paddocks. Facilities stand out here: the heated shower block has won awards, there is a stocked on-site shop, park-wide WiFi, and three food vans (fish and chips, wood-fired pizza and a pie and burger van) visit each week. Luxury holiday homes, a holiday farmhouse and a bungalow are also available to hire at Monkton Wyld Holiday Park. The park runs through the 2026 season, and prices are quoted individually through the booking team on 01297 631 131.

Good to know

Does Monkton Wyld take tents, caravans and motorhomes?
Yes, the all-unit pitches are designed for tents, caravans and motorhomes. You can choose grass or hardstanding and electric or non-electric, and the tent pitches use a Cotswold-stone surface over free-draining chalk that makes pegging and drainage easier in wet weather.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, pets are welcome at the park. There are two large dog-walking areas plus a dog wash, so there is space to exercise and clean up after coastal walks. Dogs are expected to be kept under control around the pitches and the shared facilities.
How much does it cost to stay?
Monkton Wyld does not publish set nightly prices. Rates are quoted individually for your dates and pitch type through the booking team on 01297 631 131. A deposit of £25 or 25 percent of the total, whichever is greater, is taken at the time of booking.
What facilities are on site?
The park has an award-winning heated shower block, a stocked shop, park-wide WiFi and a laundry with dryers. Three food vans visit each week serving fish and chips, wood-fired pizza, and pies and burgers, so you do not have to cook every night of your stay.
How far is the coast?
The park is about three miles from Charmouth beach and the harbour town of Lyme Regis, both on the Jurassic Coast. This stretch of West Dorset is known for fossil hunting, with guided walks and a heritage centre at Charmouth to help you find your own.
Is there glamping?
No, there are no glamping units such as pods or safari tents. Alongside touring and camping pitches, the park does hire out luxury holiday homes, a refurbished 17th-century farmhouse that sleeps up to nine, and a bungalow that sleeps four for those who want a solid roof.
