About this site

Moor Farm Certificated Site is a member only Camping and Caravanning Club CS on 0.75 acres of level ground at Chickerell, roughly 3 miles west of Weymouth town centre in Dorset. It takes up to five caravans or motorhomes plus tents, and Club membership is needed to book, so it will not suit anyone hunting for a walk in pitch. The choice of pitches is unusually broad for a site this size: grass without electric, grass with hook up, hardstanding with hook up, and hardstanding on its own. Facilities go beyond the CS norm too, with a flushing toilet, showers, washbasins, dishwashing, battery charging and some accessible facilities. The Club classes Moor Farm as coastal and lists fishing on site. Dogs are welcome and there is a designated dog walk. What stands out is that it stays open all year, which is rare on this stretch of the Dorset coast, and the Fleet lagoon and Chesil Beach sit within a couple of miles, with Weymouth harbour, sands and seafront a short drive on. A shop, pub, takeaway and gas cylinders are all available off site nearby. Booking ahead is advised, and member prices start from £20 a night.

Good to know

Is Moor Farm Certificated Site open all year?
Yes, the Camping and Caravanning Club lists Moor Farm as open from 1 January to 31 December, which is unusual for a small site this close to the Dorset coast. Booking ahead is advised, and as a Certificated Site it only takes five caravans or motorhomes at a time.
Are dogs allowed at Moor Farm?
Yes, pets are welcome and the site has a designated dog walk, which is a step up from most Certificated Sites of this size. Chickerell sits close to the Fleet lagoon and open coast, so there is proper walking within a couple of miles of the pitch.
Is there electric hook up at Moor Farm Certificated Site?
Yes, the Club lists grass pitches with hook up and hardstandings with hook up, alongside grass and hardstanding pitches without electric. That range of four pitch types is rare on a 0.75 acre Certificated Site, and it makes Moor Farm workable for winter trips to Weymouth.
Are there showers at Moor Farm?
Yes, the site has showers, a flushing toilet, washbasins, dishwashing facilities, battery charging and some accessible facilities. Many Certificated Sites offer a toilet and little else, so Moor Farm is better equipped than the norm for a small, member only site in Dorset.
Do I need to be a club member to stay at Moor Farm?
Yes, Moor Farm Certificated Site is member only and bookings go through the Camping and Caravanning Club. Certificated Sites take up to five caravans or motorhomes plus tents, so they stay small and quiet, and non members cannot book a pitch without joining the Club first.
How far is Moor Farm from the beach?
The Club classes Moor Farm as coastal. Chickerell sits beside the Fleet lagoon behind Chesil Beach, roughly a couple of miles from the site, and Weymouth town centre, harbour and sands are about 3 miles east. A shop, pub, takeaway and gas cylinders are all nearby off site.
