About this site

Moreton Camping and Caravanning Club Site is a 120 pitch, club-run touring park next to the railway station in the village of Moreton, near Dorchester and close to Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The coast lies a short drive south, with Lulworth Cove, Ringstead Bay and the Durdle Door area within easy reach, while Wareham, Corfe Castle, Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World are all nearby. The station next door makes car-free trips to Dorchester and Poole simple. Grass pitches with and without electric hook-up, hardstanding pitches with hook-up, and jumbo grass pitches for larger units welcome tents, caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents. Recently refurbished facilities include a dog wash, an accessible family room, a children's play area and a designated dog walk, and non-members can book. Mobile reception is poor and the neighbouring railway can bring occasional noise from passing trains, so this is not the spot for anyone needing a strong signal or complete quiet. A nice extra is 50% off green fees at Dorset Golf and Country Club, plus walking routes such as the Thomas Hardy Trail from the doorstep. The Moreton site is open from late March to late October, with member pitches from £12.20 a night, booked through the Club.

Good to know

Are dogs allowed at Moreton Club Site?
Yes, dogs are welcome and the site has a designated dog walk plus a dog wash area. Pets are permitted on pitches, and the surrounding lanes and coastal paths give plenty of room for walks near Moreton and the Jurassic Coast to the south.
When is the site open?
The site opens from late March to late October each year, with 2026 dates running 27 March to 26 October. It does not stay open through winter, so plan spring, summer or autumn visits and book pitches in advance for busy school-holiday dates and bank holidays.
How much does it cost to stay?
Pitches start from £12.20 a night at the members' adult price, with additional charges possible depending on party size and pitch type. Non-members can also book. Prices and availability are confirmed through the Camping and Caravanning Club booking system when you reserve your dates.
Is there electric hook-up?
Yes, the park has grass pitches with electric hook-up and hardstanding pitches with hook-up, alongside grass pitches without electric and jumbo grass pitches for larger units. Tents, caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents are all accepted, so most touring setups are catered for here.
How close is the beach and Jurassic Coast?
The Jurassic Coast is a short drive south, with Lulworth Cove and Ringstead Bay among the nearest spots. The village sits inland near Dorchester, so beaches are reached by car or by using the train line that runs right beside the site at Moreton station.
Is it suitable for families?
Yes, the site suits families, with a children's play area, an accessible family room and recently refurbished facilities. Attractions such as Monkey World and the Bovington Tank Museum are close by. Note that mobile signal is poor and passing trains can sometimes be heard on the pitches.
