Why campers love it here
About this site
Moreton Camping and Caravanning Club Site is a 120 pitch, club-run touring park next to the railway station in the village of Moreton, near Dorchester and close to Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The coast lies a short drive south, with Lulworth Cove, Ringstead Bay and the Durdle Door area within easy reach, while Wareham, Corfe Castle, Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World are all nearby. The station next door makes car-free trips to Dorchester and Poole simple. Grass pitches with and without electric hook-up, hardstanding pitches with hook-up, and jumbo grass pitches for larger units welcome tents, caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents. Recently refurbished facilities include a dog wash, an accessible family room, a children's play area and a designated dog walk, and non-members can book. Mobile reception is poor and the neighbouring railway can bring occasional noise from passing trains, so this is not the spot for anyone needing a strong signal or complete quiet. A nice extra is 50% off green fees at Dorset Golf and Country Club, plus walking routes such as the Thomas Hardy Trail from the doorstep. The Moreton site is open from late March to late October, with member pitches from £12.20 a night, booked through the Club.
