About this site

Mouse Cottage Certificated Location is a members only touring site at Nottington Farm in the hamlet of Nottington, a 1.5 acre CL between Weymouth and Dorchester with the River Wey running along its border. The site is 3 miles from the nearest sandy beach and within 5 miles of watersports, and a bus stop less than half a mile up Nottington Lane runs frequently between Weymouth and Dorchester, so the car can stay on the pitch. A public right of way leads from the site into the surrounding fields and countryside walks. Pitches are hardstanding or grass with 16 amp electric hook up, and Mouse Cottage takes caravans and motorhomes only, so tents are out. Dogs and families are both welcome, and there is a dog walk from the site. What sets it apart from most CLs is the heated utility block: an exclusive use shower, a WC, Wi-Fi, a washing machine and dryer, plus a microwave, kettle and toaster, along with drive over waste disposal for motorhomes and a baby changing table. Owners Emma and Craig draw consistent praise in guest reviews for immaculate grounds and a friendly, well informed welcome. Booking ahead is required, and pitches start from £32 a night for a pitch and two adults.

Good to know

Do you have to be a club member to stay at Mouse Cottage?
Yes, Mouse Cottage is a Caravan and Motorhome Club Certificated Location, so only club members can stay. Booking is required before arrival and must be confirmed by the owners, so ring rather than turning up. A deposit of £32 for a weekend or £60 for a week is taken.
Are there toilets and showers at Mouse Cottage?
Yes, and they are better than most CLs manage. There is a heated utility block with an exclusive use shower, a WC, Wi-Fi, a razor socket and a baby changing table, plus a washing machine and dryer at £2 a wash and £2 a tumble dry, and a microwave, kettle and toaster.
Are dogs allowed at Mouse Cottage?
Yes, dogs are welcome and the Caravan and Motorhome Club lists the site as ideal for dogs. There is a dog walk directly from the site, and a public right of way leads into the fields around Nottington, with the River Wey running along the boundary of the CL.
What pitch types and electric hook up are available?
Pitches are hardstanding or grass, both with 16 amp electric hook up, on a 1.5 acre site. Mouse Cottage takes caravans and motorhomes, not tents. There is drive over waste disposal for motorhomes. Latest arrival is 8pm and departure is 11.30am, and the site has no electric vehicle charging.
How much does Mouse Cottage cost a night?
Pitches start from £32 a night for a pitch and two adults, listed by the club from December 2025. An extra adult is £5 a night, children up to 14 are £2.50 a night and an extra car is £2 a night. Payment is by cash or bank transfer.
Can you reach Weymouth and Dorchester without a car?
Yes, a bus service runs frequently between Weymouth and Dorchester, and the stop is less than half a mile on foot up Nottington Lane. The nearest sandy beach is 3 miles away. A Post Office, food stores, a GP practice and a vet are all close to the site.
