About this site

Oakdown Holiday Park is a family-run, five-star touring, camping and glamping park three miles from Sidmouth in the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Two generations of the Franks family shaped it from open meadowland into landscaped groves of level pitches, with the Jurassic Coast about five miles away and the South West Coast Path within reach. There are 97 touring pitches (non-serviced, serviced and super-serviced), 16 luxury lodges, and glamping in The Shire with barrel pods, premier pods and shepherd's huts, so tents, tourers, motorhomes and glampers are all catered for. Oakdown is genuinely dog friendly, with dogs welcome on every touring pitch and in most pods, a Clean Paws dog spa and a field trail to the Donkey Sanctuary, a fifteen-minute walk from the gate. On site you get a nine-hole golf course, the Oak Mead cafe, two play areas and a well-stocked shop, plus a David Bellamy Gold conservation record held every year since 1996. It suits families and couples who want a calm, well-kept park rather than a loud resort. The park opens across the main season from spring to early November, and pitches, pods and lodges are booked through Oakdown's own booking system.

How far is Oakdown from Sidmouth and the beach?
Oakdown sits three miles from Sidmouth town centre in East Devon. The Jurassic Coast is about five miles away, and dog-friendly Branscombe beach is roughly ten minutes by car. Bus route 899 stops at the park entrance and connects Sidmouth and Seaton via the park.
What types of pitch and accommodation does Oakdown offer?
Oakdown has 97 landscaped touring pitches in non-serviced, serviced and super-serviced grades for tents, caravans and motorhomes. It also offers glamping barrel pods, premier pods and shepherd's huts in The Shire, plus 16 luxury lodges for guests who prefer a self-catering holiday home.
Does Oakdown have a golf course?
Yes, the park has its own nine-hole Oak Mead golf course with a cafe and shop alongside it, and dogs are welcome throughout the cafe. The course sits within the park grounds, so guests can play a round without having to drive anywhere off site.
Is Oakdown an adults-only park?
