Primrose Fields Campsite is a relaxed, back to basics campsite on a wildflower meadow about 3 miles west of Wareham, and campfires are the headline: the owners allow them, which is rare enough in Dorset to be the reason a lot of people book. The site sits on Primrose Farm Lane at BH20 6AN, in open countryside between Wareham and Wool, and the owners describe it as almost wild camping but with decent loos and hot showers, which is a fair summary of the trade you are making. Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coast are a short drive south, and the Tank Museum at Bovington and Monkey World are both close by, so Primrose Fields works as a base for Purbeck without the polish of a holiday park.
