About this site

Half an acre of level farmland at East Lawn Farm, a short way out of Gillingham in north Dorset, is all there is to Red Brick House Certificated Sites, and the arithmetic of a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site keeps it that way: five caravans or motorhomes, ten tents, Club membership required to book. Advance booking is essential. Pitches come four ways, grass with electric hook-up or without it, and hardstanding with or without. For a site of this footprint the provision is generous, covering flushing toilets, showers, washbasins, dishwashing, a designated dog walk and backpacker facilities. Distances are easy: about 2 miles into Gillingham town centre, roughly 4 miles to Shaftesbury, some 5 miles to the Stourhead estate, and the Cranborne Chase National Landscape begins just south of Shaftesbury. Anything resembling a bar, a pool or an entertainment programme is off the table, and big twin axle outfits hunting for space will be happier elsewhere, because the whole site is smaller than one farm field. Shops, a pub, a swimming pool and fishing all sit off site in and around Gillingham. Red Brick House runs a 2026 season from 1 March to 31 October, with member prices starting at £15 a night per unit for up to two adults and two children.

Good to know

Do I need to be a Camping and Caravanning Club member to stay at Red Brick House Certificated Sites?
Yes, this is a Certificated Site, which means it is open only to Camping and Caravanning Club members. Certificated Sites take up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 tents at a time, so the field stays quiet, and you book through the Club website once you are logged in rather than turning up on spec.
Are dogs allowed at Red Brick House near Gillingham?
Yes, pets are welcome, and the Camping and Caravanning Club listing for the site records a designated dog walk on the ground, so you are not stuck walking the lanes with a torch. Working farmland surrounds the pitches, so keep dogs under close control near livestock and clear up after them.
Is there electric hook-up at the site?
Yes, there are grass pitches with electric hook-up and hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up, plus grass and hardstanding pitches without electric if you would rather go without. Pick your pitch type when you book, because with a maximum of five caravan or motorhome pitches the hook-ups go quickly in summer.
Can you have a campfire at Red Brick House?
Yes, campfires are recorded as allowed at this site, but the Club listing does not set out the fire rules, so agree the details with the owner when you book. This is a working farm near livestock and crops, so expect conditions on where fires can be lit and what you can burn.
When is Red Brick House Certificated Sites open?
The Camping and Caravanning Club listing gives the 2026 season as 1 March to 31 October, so this is not a winter bolthole. Advance booking is essential rather than a nice idea, and with only a handful of pitches the summer weekends go early, so ring ahead on 07399 426216.
How much does it cost to camp at Red Brick House?
Member prices start from £15 a night and run up to £19 a night per unit, covering up to two adults and two children, according to the Camping and Caravanning Club listing for the site. Booking and payment go through the Club rather than direct with a card on arrival.
