About this site

Ridge Farm Camping & Caravan Park is a quiet, family run touring and camping park on a small farm at Ridge, just outside Wareham in Dorset. The pitches are level grass, the facilities are simple and clean, and the owners deliberately keep the place clear of club houses, bars and amusement areas, so it suits campers who want a calm base and birdsong, and it does not suit anyone after on site entertainment or a lively park. Ridge sits about a mile and a half south east of Wareham off the A351, roughly 3 miles from Corfe Castle and within 10 miles of Studland and Swanage, on the western side of Poole Harbour with nature reserves on almost every side. It is not a beach site: the nearest sand is a drive away. Tents, caravans and motorhomes are all taken on electric and non electric pitches, with an on site shop, a toilet block with free showers, and battery charging and freezer facilities. Bell tents are available to hire, dressed and ready, if you would rather skip the tent poles altogether. The season runs April to the end of September, pitches start from £24 a night, and Ridge Farm takes bookings by form and phone rather than instant online checkout.

Good to know

Are dogs allowed at Ridge Farm Camping & Caravan Park?
Yes, dogs are accepted by arrangement and cost £1 per dog per night on the park's own charges page. The park rules require dogs to be kept on a lead at all times, never left unattended and exercised off the park, with strictly no fouling. Ring ahead to arrange bringing your dog.
Are campfires allowed at Ridge Farm Camping & Caravan Park?
No, the park rules state plainly that open fires are not allowed. Barbecues are permitted but must be kept off the ground, and generators are banned. The site also asks for no noise after 10.30pm, which fits its stated aim of keeping a quiet and tranquil atmosphere near Wareham.
When is Ridge Farm Camping & Caravan Park open?
The park's published charges cover 1 April to 30 September. High season runs 1 May to 1 September, with low season from 1 to 30 April and 2 to 30 September. It is not an all year site, so plan trips to Wareham and Purbeck within that window.
How much does it cost to stay at Ridge Farm Camping & Caravan Park?
A standard non electric pitch starts from £24 a night in low season and £28 in high season, while an electric pitch is £29 low and £32 high. A £20 non refundable deposit is required in advance, and the pitch charge includes one car and up to two people.
Does Ridge Farm Camping & Caravan Park have glamping or bell tents?
Yes, the park hires out 5 metre bell tents with a zipped in groundsheet and mat flooring, set up ready for you, from £150 for two nights. A dressed version at £225 for two nights adds a pre inflated air bed, bedding for two, fairy lights, lanterns, cushions and throws.
Is Ridge Farm Camping & Caravan Park suitable for families?
Yes, the park states that families, couples and singles are all welcome, and extra people aged 3 and over cost £4 a night. It is a quiet site rather than an activity park, so parents are asked to keep children considerate, with no noisy ballgames and no noise after 10.30pm.
