Why campers love it here
About this site
Riverside Lakes is a camping, touring and glamping site spread across 26 acres of Dorset countryside at Horton, near Wimborne Minster, built around three lakes. The setting is quiet and rural, with wildflower meadows separating the pitch areas, dark skies that draw stargazers, and views over treelines and farmland, yet it sits within reach of Wimborne and the wider Bournemouth area. The camping area covers around 15 acres of spacious grass pitches, 16 of which have electric hook-up, while the rest can charge essentials in the office. This is a no-vehicle site: you drive to your pitch to unload, then move your car to a separate car park, which lets children roam freely on foot and by bike. Glamping is provided by furnished bell tents, each with bedding, cooking facilities and a log burner, including one set on a lake island. Two of the lakes, Willow and Kingfisher, are stocked for fishing. Families and quiet groups both do well here, and well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome. Farm animals including pigs and chickens give younger visitors something to enjoy. Book through the Riverside Lakes online booking system, where nightly prices are shown.
