About this site

Roadford Lake Country Park is a family friendly lakeside campsite and outdoor activity centre in west Devon, set beside the largest lake in the South West between Okehampton and Launceston. The AA 3 star site sits just off the A30 near Broadwoodwidger, with Launceston around seven miles away and Okehampton about eleven, so Dartmoor and the beaches of Devon and Cornwall are all within reach. There is a choice of electric and non electric pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, plus hardstandings, a furnished bell tent and ready pitched convenience camping tents for anyone travelling light. Facilities include free hot showers, a licensed cafe across the water, an undercover barbecue area, a children's play area and nature and cycle trails. The big draw is the on site watersports centre, where you can try kayaking, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and paddleboarding, along with high ropes, archery and climbing, with activities charged on top of camping. Roadford suits active families, groups of friends and clubs who want the outdoors on their doorstep, and it is less suited to anyone after a beach pitch or a quiet, adults only retreat. Dogs are welcome. The campsite opens from March to October, the bell tent starts from around £60 a night, and pitches are booked through South West Lakes.
