About this site

South Devon Camping is a rustic, off grid farm campsite at Lower Terawhiti Farm, South Milton, near Kingsbridge in the South Hams, run by the Berryman family who have farmed here for more than a century. This is back to basics camping in the best sense, set in rolling green fields within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and about a ten minute walk from South Milton Sands, one of the finest beaches in South Devon. Pitches are generous, at a minimum of ten metres by ten metres, so there is plenty of room to spread out, and the site takes tents and campervans or motorhomes rather than large touring caravans. There is no electric hook up, in keeping with the off grid feel, but you will find hot showers, eco loos, hot water, fridge and freezer access and fire pits, as campfires are allowed here. Well behaved dogs are welcome, and the local beach is dog friendly too. It suits campers who want space, sea air and simplicity rather than a facility packed holiday park. South Milton Sands is good for swimming and watersports such as paddleboarding and kayaking, with Hope Cove, Bantham, Bigbury and Salcombe, about four miles away, all within easy reach. South Devon Camping runs through the summer season, and booking direct is the way to secure a pitch.
