Why campers love it here
About this site
Westover Farm Certificated Site is a small Camping and Caravanning Club certificated site on a working beef and sheep farm at Wootton Fitzpaine, in West Dorset near Lyme Regis. The rustic, peaceful field sits about one and a half miles from the fossil beach and World Heritage coast at Charmouth, with Lyme Regis and its historic Cobb harbour three miles away and the Devon border just two miles off. As a certificated site it is deliberately small scale, taking around five caravans or campervans plus tents, which suits self-sufficient tourers, walkers and campers who want quiet countryside rather than a busy holiday park with lots of on-site entertainment. Separate group camping fields are available for scouts and similar organised parties. Farm walks start from the gate, the Monarch's Way footpath crosses the fields towards Charmouth, and there is good Wi-Fi across the site. The wider area is walkers' country, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and handy for West Bay, the Broadchurch filming coast, eight miles east. Westover Farm Certificated Site opens seasonally and closes over winter, and pitches are booked online through the farm's own campsite page or direct with the owners. Bring what you need, because this is proper back-to-basics farm camping rather than a fully serviced park.
