About this site

Woodovis Park is a small, 5 star holiday park on the edge of the Tamar Valley near Gulworthy and Tavistock in West Devon, close to the western boundary of Dartmoor. It is a quiet park set down a long wooded entrance drive, with pitches for tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, glamping pods and a tipi, luxury caravans and a self catering cottage. The touring pitches are a mix of grass, all weather and super pitches, all with electric hook up, and the park makes a point of having no road noise. What stands out is the on site set up for such a small park: an indoor heated pool, spa and sauna, a shop with freshly baked bread and croissants, a snack shack and activities such as archery through the season. It is inland rather than coastal, so be clear that the nearest beaches are around 45 minutes away, and Woodovis is a base for Dartmoor walking, cycling and the Tamar Valley rather than a beach park. Dogs are welcome, with wash points and a wooded dog walk. Tavistock, an old stannary market town, is a short drive for shops and pubs. The park opens from around mid March to late October, with grass camping pitches from GBP 35 a night for two adults.

Good to know

Is Woodovis Park dog friendly?
Yes, dogs are welcome on the touring and camping pitches and in most accommodation, with dog wash points and a wooded dog walk with a nature trail on site. Dartmoor and the Tamar Valley give excellent walking close by for longer days out.
How much are camping pitches at Woodovis?
Grass and all weather pitches start from around GBP 35 a night for two adults with a 10 amp hook up, with a lower rate from GBP 30 for guests aged over 50. Super pitches with water and drainage cost a little more, and dogs are GBP 5.
Does Woodovis Park have glamping?
Yes, the park has glamping pods and a tipi as an alternative to bringing your own tent. There are also luxury caravans and a self catering cottage for anyone wanting more space and home comforts on a Dartmoor edge break.
Is Woodovis near a beach?
No, the park is inland on the edge of Dartmoor, and the nearest beaches are around 45 minutes away by car. It works best as a base for Dartmoor, the Tamar Valley and Tavistock rather than as a beach holiday park.
What facilities are on site?
For a small park there is a lot: an indoor heated pool, spa and sauna, a shop with freshly baked bread, a snack shack, a games room and seasonal activities such as archery. It is quiet, with the park promoting no road noise at all.
When is Woodovis Park open?
The park opens from around mid March to late October. Pitches, pods and caravans are booked through the Woodovis booking system, and the park is close to Tavistock for shops, pubs and supplies during your stay.
