Woodyhyde Campsite

Woodyhyde Campsite is a relaxed, family-run site spread over 15 acres of open countryside on the Isle of Purbeck, a 20 minute walk from Corfe Castle in Dorset. Pitches are unmarked across three large fields, so you choose your own spot on arrival, with a mix of grass and hardstanding and around 100 electric hook-ups available. Tents, campervans and motorhomes are all welcome, but caravans are not permitted because of the low railway bridge at the entrance (10.5ft high by 9ft wide), so check your outfit fits before setting off. One field runs right alongside the Swanage Railway, and heritage steam trains passing a few metres from your pitch is the feature campers mention most, along with the clean facilities, the well-stocked shop and off-licence and the genuinely dog-friendly setup. Dogs stay free and are welcome in two of the three fields. For a bit more comfort there are yurts and shepherd's huts in a private paddock. Reviews are strong on space and friendly staff, though showers run on 50p tokens and get mixed comments. Swanage and Studland beaches, Old Harry Rocks and the Jurassic Coast are all a short drive away. Woodyhyde Campsite opens from 1 March to 31 October 2026, with camping from £12 per adult a night and dogs free, booked online through the site.
